I need more Turquoise Jewelry!

B and I got more traction on our Summer List by going to Santa Fe a couple of weekends ago. Just a night there and back, it was great to get away and see some place new! There are many a picture below but I wanted to go over some highlights.
  • 5 hour drives seem a lot longer if there is nothing to look at - it was like the Neverending Story up in that joint!
  • B now knows how to check for those narsty bed bugs like a pro with all that traveling he has been doing. Weird to think that our parents jokingly said "Don't let the bed bugs bite" and now that is a real thing to worry about!
  • Santa Fe is OBSESSSSSSSED with turquoise jewelry, literally every other shop was that shizz. B and I started joking that you could not get a business license without selling the rock! Apparently there is such a demand that there needs to be about 8,000 shops in a town with a population under 75,000. It must be all those baby-boomers who feed off of the stuff...
  • It's hard to find decent southwestern food in the Plaza - everywhere sold pizza. I guess they did not get the memo that they are in the southwest and not in NYC.
  • Trader Joe's is the shizz nitt but people in Santa Fe are crazy up in that joint - every aisle was packed solid and I don't think a single woman was wearing a bra!
  • Diner's Drive-Ins and Dive made a solid recommendation with Harry's Roadhouse - we ate there twice and B did not think it was a waste of moolah! We had lunner there the first day and we shared a Blue Corn Turkey Enchiladas and a California Dreamin' burrito. Both were fabulous and we started with some Guac that B actually liked. We ate there for breakfast on the way out and I had Migas and B had a Blue Corn Waffle with Bacon inside. Soo tasty
Enjoy a few photos!
