Easy Red, White, and Blue Trifle

With Memorial Day coming up soon, I thought this super easy and yummy Trifle would be good. We took this to one of our friend's houses and it was devoured! That is always a stamp of approval to me. This is totally a Semi-Homemade dessert that you can whip up in no time and looks fancy pants.

Red, White, and Blue Trifle
Serves 8-10

2 cups whipping cream
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 frozen pound cake
1 can Mixed Berry pie filling
1 pint of strawberries

  1. Whip the cream, sugar, and vanilla together in a stand mixer or with a hand mixer at high speed. Beat until it is thick and the cream stands up but make sure to keep checking on it, you do not want butter!
  2. Cut up the pound cake into 1 inch cubes, I used a bread knife and it worked great. Cut up the strawberries into quarters.
  3. Now to start assembling - spread some whipped cream at the base of your bowl, top with pound cake cubes, spread with half the can of pie filling, and finally add half of the strawberries. Repeat with one more layer and top with the remaining whipped cream.
  4. Refrigerate for a couple of hours for all the flavors to meld together and serve chilled!
