Happy Love Day!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! B and I do not really do anything special or specific for today but I thought a little question and answer would be cute. For those who are totally over the cutey nature of Valentines - I will be posting non-love related items soon! I really should post some pictures with this but whatevs...
1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
B and I have been together for seven awesome years - seems like a lot and not enough all at the same time!
2. How did you meet? {What’s your “love” story?}
I was the new host at Citrus City Grille in Orange California and in comes in this handsome devil that everyone seemed so excited to see and he was just so nice. We quickly became friends and it turned out I was EVERYTHING he was not looking for in a partner - I guess God had other ideas! I will definitely have to write our story some time!
3. If married, how long have you been married?
We are on our 5th year of blissful marriage
4. If you are married, where did you get married? Big or small wedding?
We got married at the Denver Botanic Gardens surrounded by 30 members of our family and friends - I would definitely call that small! We had our reception at a local restaurant, Sparrow, that is no longer in business. I loved my intimate wedding and B and I often wish we could re-live that day because it was so perfect.
5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
B calls me Bloops, Blops, Bleeps, or PooPoos - don't ask. I call B babe or love usually.
6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
He loves me and Baron so much and I cannot wait to see him with our children, he always keeps us in mind. His honesty is second to none - he will be the first to admit he was not listening or paying attention! He makes me laugh consistently and he even smirks at my corny jokes.
7. Tell us how he proposed?
B got a job offer in Colorado and we decided to make the move together since we knew we were heading towards marriage as soon as we moved in together. We decided to take a Friday off to visit our favorite place, Disneyland, one last time with our annual passes. Little did we know that it was Pride Day at the Mouse House and it was a sea of red t-shirts - it was probably the busiest we have ever seen it. He was visibly agitated so I even remarked that we needed to have fun despite all the lines and crowds. It was hot and we were a little tired so we decided to sit down in the little alley of New Orleans Square. B kept getting all in a tizzy each time someone would walk through the space, I told him to chillax. Then he started talking about how much he loved me and wanted to be with me forever, I started breathing really fast and started to cry, he got down on one knee and pulled out a little ring box. I of course said YES and the guy from the little store popped out and asked if he wanted us to take a picture - a little creepy because we knew he had be watching the whole time but we definitely wanted t a picture. It was perfect and very much us.
8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Definitely not, he would be if I was super into it but as long as we are together, we are happy clams.
9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Relaxing on the couch for sure! I would add some awesome home-cooked dinner, popcorn, and maybe a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, and we have a fantastic night!
10. Tell us one thing you’d like to do with your significant other one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
We have already talked about a for-sure trip to Scotland, B's motherland, for his 40th birthday. We already know that if we are blessed with littles, they will NOT be joining us! We often talk about everywhere we want to go together but mainly just having time to just be.
11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine’s Day.
Nothing! We are carpooling today to have a little more time together, it really helps to get those little moments.
12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine’s day?
Nada
13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Without a doubt, the 100% rule. We have a rule which we live by, both of us has to be 100% behind a decision before anything happens. This allows us to see each other's point of view and if one of us is not all the way, we do not do it. It truly relieves a lot of stress on a marriage and we try to get everyone to do it, most think we are crazy. Espcially when we call or text each other before buying something or going out to lunch. Thankfully, before we even approach a decision, we are on the same page because we know each other so well now and know areas that give a little grief. That way, the time we spend together is not arguing over finances or trips or any other item that does not really matter, we can focus on each other and our love for one another.
