Epic Fail

So if you remember, I had a lovely item on the Autumn list called Halloween stockings. Fabulous idea, really excited, scouted out fabrics and thought of all the cool things to put in them and on them. You know, a whole new Campbell tradition!

Well, I should have known how it was going to go when I had a hell-a-cious time at Jo-Ann's to find the fabrics, cut it, and get out of there. First, their Halloween section of fabrics was obliterated and I only had like 15 fabrics to choose from. So then I am a little crazed because B was out of town on business and I know he is not a fan of polka dots and that was all they had that I was interested in... Then I finally made my selections, made my way over to the cutting station and holy cow, total pandemonium! I ended up waiting over 45 minutes to get my precious 4 yards of fabric only to stand in the check out line for another 30 minutes. Needless to say, I was pooped by the time left the store.

Once I get to our Casa, B likes it and I feel good about the project again so I start on a template. Not really thinking it through, I made it too small. I wanted to make it quilted of sorts to make sure it was sturdy. Then I started sewing, total disaster. For some reason, my bobbin hated going through the quilt batting and goodness gracious it despised pompom string. I got so frustrated, this is what I ended up with... SO SAD!

I have saved my scraps and at least I was smart enough to only cut enough fabric for one stocking so I have lots of cute media for next year. I just need to be better prepared and have a good plan and template in place before starting this again!
